School Advisory Council
The School Advisory Council (SAC) is defined in our Charter as a venue to give parents a voice in the operations of the school. Each school has its own SAC. The primary function of the SAC is to protect and nurture the mission and vision of the Schools. The SAC does this by advising school leadership, communicating concerns from parents and mobilizing the larger school community. During SAC meetings, members discuss topics such as volunteer needs of the school, advise on issues regarding educational programs or the school atmosphere and culture. In essence, the SAC is designed to answer the question, “Is this the school that I thought it would be?”
The SAC consists of equal numbers of parents elected by parents, teachers elected by teachers and community or business leaders appointed by the Council. The Heads of the Schools facilitate the SAC for their School. Please review the list of SAC members and meeting dates.
