Task Forces for the 2011-12 year:
Promotions Task Force: This task force is instrumental in recruitment events (like Coffee With the Currents) as well as social events to promote an internal sense of community – for example, the end-of-year party, kindergarten transition play dates, and culture exchange programs among TFS and TSS families. Facilitator: Pam Stewart, Contact: sllispapromotions@gmail.com
Fundraising Task Force: This task force is the only source of income for the Parents Assembly. It has organized dozens of initiatives, ranging from one-time events (like restaurant dinners) to sales drives that last several weeks (like TJ’s Pizza). It also oversees ongoing campaigns (like Box Tops for Education). Facilitator: Dale Greenbury, Contact: sllispafundraising@gmail.com
Communications Task Force: This task force makes sure information flows throughout the school, whether it’s via digital communication (the homepage, blog, and e-mail), phone calls, or papers in backpacks. Members do everything from basic data entry to testing new online tools. Facilitator: Megan Hinrichsen, Contact: sllispacommunications@gmail.com
After-School Activities Task Force: Helps parents who would like to organize an after-school activity or club discover whether or not their idea is feasible and, if it is, implement it successfully. Members work closely with the administration as well as coaches/teachers and parent organizers. Facilitator: Peter Manion (interim), Contact: sllispaafterschool@gmail.com
Teacher Appreciation Task Force: Shows SLLIS teachers and staff in both The Spanish and The French Schools how much we love them! Members organize meals, small gifts, and other thank-you gestures for everyone who works behind the scenes at the school. Facilitator: Lisa Berman, Contact: sllispateacherappreciation@gmail.com
Intern Task Force: One of the things that sets SLLIS apart is its multicultural environment, enhanced by the presence of Amity Interns from around the world. Members of this task force line up host families, coordinate with them during the year, and support the interns with everything from camping trips to practical, everyday needs (like bicycles). Co-facilitators: Molly Koebbe, Brenda Butler, Jael Lippert, Contact: sllispainterns@gmail.com

Welcome to the 2011-2012 school year!
