Parents Assembly
In keeping with the school’s mission and charter, and to be active partners in the education of our children, the Saint Louis Language Immersion Schools Parents Assembly (PA) serves the school community and participates in the governance and growth of SLLIS. It is run by parents, has its own set of by laws and meets once a month to give parents a voice and allow them to make progress on various projects.
Our goals are to promote a sense of community; to provide strong communications between the parent body and students, faculty, administration, and the Board; and to aid the school through support in the classroom, administrative tasks, school activities and parent education opportunities.
The PA is run by the Executive Committee, which oversees various task forces that have been created by parents with specific events and goals in mind. Current task forces include: Parent Support, Fundraising, Uniforms, Communications, Safety, Intern Committee, and Promotions.
The Parents Assembly has open meetings once a month, on the first Monday or Tuesday of the month. All parents/guardians on SLLIS students are welcome to attend. Meetings start at 6pm and are held at SLLIS. Childcare is provided on a rotating basis by parents who have brought children to the meeting.
The Parents Assembly (PA) is a group of SLLIS families who work hard to play a special role in the education and development of SLLIS students through successful efforts including fundraising, enriching educational resources, volunteering and becoming a role model for our children. All parents and families are encouraged to become involved in PA play their role in making SLLIS a better place for students, faculty, the community and families.
