Communications
Parent conferences
You’ll meet with your child’s primary teacher and teacher assistant four times per year to discuss your child’s progress: August in-take conferences, September baseline and goal-setting conferences, January Progress Report, and May Progress Report.
On conference days, SLLIS closes the school for students so that teachers have the chance to meet with all parents. Meetings are typically 20 minutes long and provide you with the opportunity to hear about your child’s activities and performance, to review your child’s grades, and to ask any questions. At the end of the meeting, you’ll be asked to sign any progress reports shared and will receive a copy of that progress report to take home.
You can also meet with the art, music, science, physical education or other specials teachers to learn more about their programs.
Classroom Meetings
You can request a meeting with your child’s teachers anytime throughout the year. To do so, contact the teacher directly or send a note in with your child. You may also leave a message with our front desk staff.
If you have difficulty reaching a teacher or have concerns or questions about a teacher, call the front desk to make an appointment with the Head of School.
