Club SLLIS
Club SLLIS provides educational and interactive programming for SLLIS students during weekdays during the school year when school is not in session, such as teacher professional development days, conference days, and many holidays. Fee: $30 per day, $20 9am-4pm, $10 before and aftercare 7:45am-6pm.
Meals: Students must bring their own lunch and drink. Club SLLIS will provide breakfast, and morning and afternoon snacks which all include drinks. Breakfast and snacks will include fresh fruits and vegetables and other healthy options that are also kid-friendly. Snacks will reflect the day’s theme whenever possible (see below).
Registration: Forms and payment will be due 2 weeks before any Club SLLIS date. This will allow enough time to ensure appropriate staffing and adequate purchasing of supplies. Late registrations will be accepted as long as there is enough staffing to maintain the 10:1 ratio. A waiting list may be maintained for late registrations.
Refund policy: Up to 1 week before program: Full refund. Within 1 week before program: No refund, unless we receive a doctor’s note.
Curriculum: All Club SLLIS days will follow the same schedule and have designated themes. From those themes, 4 activity periods will be developed that incorporate enriching activities around them that also include an opportunity to work on academic and/or life skills. Activities will be designed by keeping in mind developmental level of students in the program. Every Club SLLIS day will include a presentation by an outside performer that relates to the day’s theme. The beginning and end of each day includes open choice time with rotating activities such as manipulatives, art projects, board games and other activities of interest. See attached schedule and sample curricula for more detail. Read aloud will always relate to the day’s themes.
